My Favorite Shows From London Fashion Week S/S 2023

If I’m being honest, London is usually my least favorite out of all the other fashion weeks that take place. I don’t have any favorite designers that I’m overly excited about, however, this particular season struck a chord with me as many designers created special looks to honor Queen Elizabeth II’s recent passing. The overall tone of London Fashion Week was somber as it took place the same week of the late Queen’s funeral; many designers chose to bow out of the fashion festivities, but those who carried on did so in a meaningful way and paid tribute to her life and legacy. Keep reading to see some of my favorite collection’s from the Spring/Summer 2023 season!

Richard Quinn

I discovered this designer by watching Victoria’s coverage of the runway show on her Instagram stories (if you don’t follow her, you need to! Her content is stunning 🖤). I was amazed to learn that Richard Quinn and his team created 23 stunning black looks at the last minute to pay tribute to the Queen. Looking at these gowns you wouldn’t even think these were a late addition to the runway show - they are absolutely exquisite and have impeccable attention to detail with all the beadwork! I loved just about every single one of these gowns that paid homage to the Queen, but I sadly can’t say that about the rest of his collection. The exaggerated shoulder details that make it seem as though you don’t have a neck didn’t resonate with me, but I definitely wanted to give a shoutout to the 23 gorgeous all black looks. RIP 💔

Erdem

When I think of elegant floral prints, sophisticated silhouettes, and romantic details, Erdem is the designer that is top of mind for me. I just might take back what I said earlier about not having a favorite designer at LFW because Erdem is almost always at the top of my favorites list! Consistent with what we saw during NYFW, vibrant colors are definitely a theme for the upcoming spring season. I loved seeing pops of chartreuse and light aquamarine throughout this collection; it’s making me so excited to experiment with color next year! Can we also talk about some of these beautiful, feminine details?! I’m loving the exaggerated, off-shoulder sleeves on the first dress and the asymmetrical ruffle details on the 2nd and 3rd dresses. I think this was my favorite collection overall!

Nensi Dojaka

This was also a new designer I discovered thanks to Victoria! Nensi Dojaka’s designs are the perfect balance of sophisticated and sexy. She effortlessly blends delicate bra-like tops with fluid chiffon skirts that create gorgeous movement on the catwalk. I mean, talk about the ultimate red carpet look! The first evening gown that features the cranberry and pink color combination is my absolute favorite; I definitely want to create an outfit this fall using that color combo! The 2nd dress with the bubblegum pink sequins was giving my 90’s vibes in the best way and made me think of “My Date With The President’s Daughter” (IYKYK 😂). I also can’t get over the chiffon wide-leg pants paired with the heart cutout bra top! So chic and sexy all at once. This is definitely a designer I’ve got my eye on and I can’t wait for her future collections!

Did you have a favorite show from LFW? I’d love to know in the comments! Milan Fashion Week is currently underway and I can’t wait to recap that for you next week! xo
