16 Oversized Blazers To Elevate Your Wardrobe This Spring
Over the last several weeks I’ve been talking a lot about spring trends and the ones I’ve chosen to invest in, like trouser shorts, bralettes, and “bridal vibes”, but I think my favorite has to be oversized suiting! It’s making such a big statement on all the fashion retailers I shop at and there’s so much variety in colors, silhouettes, and fabrics - there’s literally something for everyone! What I love most about it though is how versatile a suit really is with just a blazer and pants, but if I had to pick between the two, I’d go choose a blazer hands down. It’s an item that I think every woman should own in her wardrobe!
I remember the very first blazer I bought when I was 18 working my first “big girl” job at J. Crew. It was a black, boyfriend style blazer (that was THE trend back in 2010) with a single button, and I felt so proud of myself because it was basically my first adult purchase of an item that felt like the perfect investment piece. I was also just really excited to use my employee discount 😉 But that blazer was the hero of my closet back in my college/early career days! I got so much use out of it and it literally got me through all my internship interviews and school presentations. I loved that blazer so much and it was probably the best money I had ever spent on a clothing item. I wore it with jeans, skirts, dresses - literally everything! It’s true what they say that styles come and go, and after a few years the boyfriend style wasn’t as trendy/popular so I didn’t reach for it as much and when that happened I knew it was time to say goodbye. I haven’t owned a neutral blazer since that beloved J. Crew one until now, but this little trip down memory lane has reminded me how essential a great blazer is!
Since blazers are trending for spring there are tons of fresh colors and silhouettes all over the internet right now, and I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites! All of these would be a great investment in your wardrobe and even though they might be really popular this season, a great blazer doesn’t go out of style!
