Why I Love Travel

When I was younger, my parents always had a family vacation planned each summer (sometimes more than one!) which I looked forward to as the school year was coming to an end. I loved having something to look forward to, almost like a light at the end of the tunnel. Even if we weren't going somewhere new, or even if it wasn't a long trip, the idea of getting away was inspiring to me. I loved getting on the plane and jetting off on a new adventure, where new memories would be made and cherished forever. These same feelings still exist for me today, and when I start to plan a trip I begin to feel very motivated in all aspects of my life. As I've been thinking about this post and writing it out, it's hard for me to pinpoint why I feel this way, but something about leaving your current city to go on an adventure elsewhere refreshes me and gives me a new perspective on life.

Sometimes right up until we go on a vacation, life can be hectic and stressful. Maybe you have a lot going on at work, or you have a busy school schedule, or maybe all of the planning of your vacation has just been super overwhelming! But the moment you start on your journey, all of that worry can melt away and you can enjoy the ride. There are so many places on my travel bucket list, some near and some far, but I think one of the most important things about traveling is not so much where you're going, but who you're with. It's so much more enjoyable having loved ones to go on adventures with and create lasting memories with!

Summer tends to be the peak of traveling with kids being out of school and warm weather to enjoy in most parts of the world, but as it draws to a close in a few weeks, I hope we don't lose our sense of adventure and desire to explore. What's next on your travel bucket list!? I'd love to hear in the comments!
