Tie Dye Sweatshirt for Fall
The tie dye trend has gained a lot of momentum during quarantine, specifically in the active and loungewear categories, and I am here for it! I’ll be honest, I never thought of myself as a “tie dye girl” like Hallie’s friend at Camp Walden in The Parent Trap (I know you know the iconic scene I’m referencing!), but as soon as I saw this tie dye sweatshirt it was an immediate yes! I’m not really into the bright, vibrant tie dye pieces with hot pinks, yellows, and greens…they feel a bit chaotic and loud for my taste. This neutral color palette is really what drew me to this piece, and the fact that it’s a super cozy sweatshirt, making it perfect for work from home life!
The cropped, boxy cut is also what makes it incredibly comfortable and easy to style with literally anything! I’ve been wearing it with leggings around the house, with high-waisted jeans when I’m out running errands, and I styled it here with this mini suede skirt, hat, and boots for a fall-inspired look. I really wanted to play up the varying neutral tones in the tie dye and pull them into the rest of the outfit. Neutrals will always have a special place in my heart and I welcome any opportunity to wear them! I love that the skirt is a richer, almost mushroom shade of brown, while the boots are a lighter cognac. I pulled the look together with softer, blush pink tones in the hat and my Mansur Gavriel bag.
I find that most of my favorite pieces in my closet are a result of taking a step outside my comfort zone. While this sweatshirt still felt somewhat safe because of the neutral color palette, the tie dye pattern is something I wouldn’t normally wear. This sweatshirt is going to be a staple in my fall wardrobe and I can’t wait to style it in different ways in future blog posts!
