A Red Sweater Dress for the Holidays

Now that December has arrived I’m feeling festive and ready to wear bright, jewel-toned hues, with Christmas red being my favorite! I just realized that this is the only red clothing item that I own…for now ;) I suppose red isn’t a color I generally gravitate towards, but when the holidays are in full swing it’s the color that I suddenly want to wear all the time! It instantly lifts my mood and puts me in the holiday spirit—if you’ve watched the movie ‘Noelle’ on Disney+ you’ll understand my reference when I say, “It’s jolly!”. As soon as I spotted this sweater dress online I knew it was going to be the perfect December dress!

It’s made out of this cozy, knit sweater fabric which offers the perfect amount of warmth for Phoenix winters. If you live somewhere really cold, you can easily pair this with tights or leggings and top if off with a coat and scarf, although the scarf may not be necessary—the mock neckline is pretty warm! I also love the relaxed silhouette of this dress and the bow sash that you can adjust and cinch in as much or as little as you want. You can easily dress this up with heels and a statement earring or keep it casual with sneakers and a crossbody bag. The dress comes in gray and black as well (I’m wearing an XS for size reference) and it’s currently on sale for $25! December is just getting started and I’m so excited for the rest of the festivities this time of year brings! I’m thinking this will be the perfect dress to wear to the Nutcracker ballet performance with my mom; it’s one of our favorite traditions that we’ve been doing since I was a little girl.
