Desert Boho Vibes With A Maxi Skirt
Have you ever taken one of those BuzzFeed quizzes that will tell you which Friends character you are or which country you should live in if you just answer 15 questions? (I promise I have a point š) Have you ever noticed that some of those quizzes will ask what your favorite time of day is, not really wondering why thatās relevant info? š¤·š»āāļø Well, Iāve always answered that question with āNoonā because Iām neither a morning person nor a night owl, although I was very much a night owl in my early 20ās and I do miss those days! I also love that time of day because I feel like thereās still so much possibility for the day ahead. However, Iāve recently become so infatuated with the golden hour just as the sun is sinking down for a good nightās rest. This is the time of day that Freddy and I usually take pictures, and I love seeing the light from the sun transform from a bright yellow into a rich, golden hue of orangey-red. I also love the different effects that these varying strokes of light have on our photos. Experimenting with light has been so fun lately, especially during the winter months when the sun sets so much earlier. š
I also love playing with different neutral tones in my outfits within the desert landscape. You may recognize this maxi skirt which I wore in this post last year when Freddy and I took a quick day trip to Sedona. Iāve been so excited to plan another outfit around it here in the desert, and Iām so happy with how these photos turned out! š This skirt is one of my favorite things in my closet, and even though itās sold out, Iāve linked several similar options for you to browse through āš» Since I previously styled this skirt with a graphic tee, I wanted to switch things up a bit this time around. This sweater bodysuit that I wore in last weekās post was the perfect piece to pair with it, and I couldnāt resist finishing the look off with my new favorite hat!
Whenever Iām buying a unique clothing item, like this skirt, I always want to make sure itās versatile and that Iāll be able to style it in a variety of ways. The whole point in buying fun pieces that have a special print or design is that you get to switch up how you style it! One item that I donāt have in my wardrobe is a denim jacket, which I think would be so cute with this skirt. My hope is to get one next year because I definitely know Iāll get lots of use out of it. I canāt wait to show you some other fun outfits I have planned for the 2nd half of December. Stay tuned! š
