A Holly Jolly Christmas
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I can’t believe Christmas is just a few days away—I find myself saying this every year but the month of December truly flew by so quickly this year! This month was a bit different for me than past Decembers, and honestly it was such a nice change. You may have seen me post on my Instagram a couple weeks ago about getting a new job and finally leaving the retail world after 6 and a half years. From Black Friday all the way through New Year’s Eve has always been such a busy time for me at work, but for the first time ever I was able to have all of last week off to slow down and enjoy the holiday season prior to starting my new job.
It was so nice to have a break from the hustle and bustle of being at the mall every day—although I did have to go to the mall last Saturday and I had the realization of what it’s like to be a “normal person” out at the mall on the weekend and see how busy it was! I was able to get all of my wrapping done (which typically doesn’t happen until the day before Christmas) and I was even able to bake and get together with several of my friends. It was amazing and just the kind of down time I needed before I started my new job, which happened to be on Monday!
This week has been so fun getting to know my new co-workers and get acquainted with my new team and company. I already feel at home here and it has been amazing working a consistent, Monday-Friday daytime schedule! It’s something I’ve never had before, and I wasn’t sure how I would adjust after working a random retail schedule for so long. There would be days when I wouldn’t get home until 11pm, and then have to be back at work the next day at 8am. My body could never get on a regular “clock” and it was hard for me to wake up early some mornings or fall asleep some nights. Now that I have a consistent schedule, I’m so excited to get back into a regular workout routine and maybe even wake up early Saturday mornings to go hiking or go for a walk! I definitely want to sleep in some weekends haha but I’m just so excited about this new schedule that I want to make the most of it!
Since Christmas is just around the corner, I wanted to share this festive look with you, which would be perfect for a Christmas Eve church service, or Christmas dinner with the family. I love the crystal embellishments on the sweater that give it that feminine, sparkly touch! And I’m obsessed with this lace skirt—it’s the perfect shade of red so that you and Santa can be twinning! The best part about this outfit is that it’s up to 40% off but only until tonight! So get your shopping on because there are so many great holiday outfit options if you’re looking for some last minute ideas! I hope you enjoy a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones and that you’re able to slow down and take in the joy that this season brings, xoxo.
