What Inspires Me to Keep Chasing My Dreams
There’s something about travel that leaves me feeling re-energized and inspired to continue pursuing my dreams and making the most out every day that we have on this earth. When Freddy and I have the opportunity to take a vacation and travel somewhere, it reminds me of how fun it is to explore a new city, or go back and visit familiar places that we have come to love over the years. Ever since my dad was diagnosed with brain cancer last year, my eyes have been opened to how short and precious life is, and it’s caused me to truly think about what I want to do with my life and how I want to spend my days. Traveling is something Freddy and I both enjoy so much and we have so many beautiful places on our bucket list that we want to visit; those places inspire us to keep working hard so that we can have the opportunity to take in those new experiences and see the world!
California is definitely one of our favorite states and we always love spending time there. It’s where we were both born, where Freddy grew up, where I went to college, and where we met each other! It’s pretty cool that we only live 6 hours from the beaches in Los Angeles, so hoping in the car and driving over is totally doable. We spent last week in California to spend time with Freddy’s family, go to Disneyland and to watch Freddy run in his first half-marathon! My heart felt like it was going to explode out of my chest due to how PROUD I was watching him run! He had been training for this half-marathon for almost a year, and to see him accomplish something that he worked so hard for was so exciting! It was a day that I’ll never forget and he’s already preparing to run a marathon next year—you got this babe!
The day after his half-marathon we celebrated at Disneyland! I had double and triple checked with him as we were planning this trip over the summer, making absolutely sure he would be okay walking around Disneyland the day after running 13.1 miles. He assured me it would be no big deal…thankfully I didn’t have to push him around in a wheelchair, but his body was definitely hurting! Good thing he had all the delicious food (I.e. churros, ice cream, corn dogs, you name it!) to pig out on at the parks to make up for it! And the fact that we fueled up for the day with our favorite character breakfast tradition definitely helped. We had such a magical time and it’s always so hard to leave Disneyland. That place always inspires me to never give up on my dreams, because Walt never gave up on his dream to create Disneyland!
As of right now we don’t have any travel plans for the rest of the year, but next year we will be going somewhere new and exciting that I can’t wait to share with you! Does travel inspire you? What’s your favorite place that you’ve been to? Let me know in the comments! xo
