Alo Activewear
Last summer I talked about my fitness challenge that I committed myself to which was staying active for at least 1 hour 3-4 times per week. If I'm being honest, sticking to a workout plan is not one of my strong suits. I have some great weeks, and some not so great. I'm only human and sometimes life just gets crazy (I'm sure some of you can relate to this, too!). Now that 2018 is underway, I'm re-committing myself to this challenge with the goal of having a more healthy lifestyle this year, including changing some of my eating habits.
In no way do I feel that I need to lose weight as part of this workout plan. I simply want to be healthy from the inside out, and I would also love to build strength in certain areas, like my arms and legs. Plus, it's an opportunity to get outside and enjoy nature by going on a run, hike or even a walk through the neighborhood! And it's something that Freddy and I can do together which makes it even better. He actually gave me this activewear outfit (pants & matching bra) in my favorite color for Christmas which I absolutely love! It just shows how well he knows me (& loves me) because nothing motivates me more to be active than new workout clothes haha! I also love these grey pants and cozy sweatshirt to pair with them.
Something else I want to change this year is my eating habits. I would say that I eat fairly healthy overall, but I know one thing is for sure, and it's that I consume way too much sugar. Yes, I'm a chocoholic and I'm not afraid to admit it! I've noticed more and more over the past several months that I'll become very lethargic after eating sugar, whether it's cookies, milk chocolate or any other sweet treat. Some nights I'll even fall asleep on the couch for up to an hour after eating them! I notice this with carbs as well, whether it be rice, pasta or bread. I'm looking into making an appointment with a doctor to rule out any food allergies I could potentially have and work towards creating a more balanced and nutrient-filled eating plan for myself. If you've had any experiences with this I'd love to hear any tips you may have!
I know I'm not perfect and I'll probably miss a few days of my workout, or have an epic dessert night every now and then, but I'm okay with that! I know what my goals are and what I need to do to reach them, but I want to have fun getting there and continue to enjoy the things I love (like chocolate) but in moderation. Do you have any health goals for the new year? I'd love to hear them in the comments!
P.S. Taking these photos was a HUGE step outside of my comfort zone. Having confidence in front of the camera is something I'm continually working on, so combining that while wearing this outfit was a little challenging for me. But Freddy helped me to have the courage to be confident in my skin and I'm so glad I tried something new!
