Men's Suiting Style
A couple weeks ago on the blog, my husband Freddy mentioned that he has been trying to update his wardrobe with key pieces that he can mix and match with. He's always been a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy, but now that he's almost in his mid-twenties, we've decided it's time to invest in some great items that he can wear for various occasions.
One of these items is a sport coat, which he found at Nordstrom. He originally bought it to wear to my cousin's wedding back in April, but knew it would be something he would get a lot of use out of in the future as well! The great thing about a tailored sport coat is that it can instantly elevate a casual look. You can throw it on with jeans, sneakers and a polo or create a more dressy suiting option by pairing it with slacks, a button down and dress shoes.
In this look, Freddy is wearing his navy blue coat with a pair of charcoal grey slacks and chestnut dress shoes as wear-to-work outfit. This is something that can also transition for events after you leave the office, such as drinks or dinner. To take it up even one more notch, add a coordinating tie and/or pocket square.
This sport coat is by Hugo Boss, and is one of their classic fits, great for guys who have more bulk in the torso and slightly broader shoulders. The wool blend is also fairly lightweight, which is perfect for our more humid climate here in Texas! He had considered a jacket in black and grey, but really liked the navy since he can wear it with grey, navy and tan colored slacks which gives him more options.
To finish off the look he wore his favorite dress shoes by Allen Edmonds. He loves their comfort and quality, which you can read more about here. And don't forget a pair of patterned dress socks!
It's been fun to see Freddy's closet transition from casual t-shirts (which he still wears when we run errands!) into more button-downs and polos. In time I know he will continue to develop his personal style and experiment with different looks to share here on the blog too! Thanks for stopping by today. Make it a great Monday!
Blushfully,
Belle
