A Walk in the Woods

When Freddy and I have the day off together, which isn't as often as we'd like, we love to explore new areas that we have never been to before. Whether it's checking out a new restaurant, taking a drive, or going for a walk, we love spending time together and taking in new scenery. We spotted a trail behind our chiropractor's office a couple weeks ago, so we decided to go back and check it out. I felt like I was in a dream with all of the beautiful, lush trees surrounding us! It was so quiet and peaceful too as we listened to birds happily chirping in the trees.

Even though it may not be considered to be the "woods" completely, it was definitely more of a woods than I've really experienced before! Growing up in the Phoenix desert, my parents and I would occasionally drive up to Flagstaff in the fall and winter to experience the beautiful pine trees and crisp, mountain air. I wouldn't call the air here in Texas "crisp" by any means, but this trail definitely brought me back to those memories, and now I really want to take a trip up into the mountains.

Since it was a slightly cool, fall afternoon I put on a cozy sweater layered with a printed, lightweight scarf. This Theory sweater (similar here) has been one of my favorites over the years, especially because it's a soft neutral color (big surprise!) and can pair back with so many different outfits. I got this scarf a few years ago from Nordstrom, and I love that it's not too bulky or heavy, but perfect for layering. I also love this leopard print one, and this floral print one (under $40!).

Of course, you can never go wrong with a pair of well-fitting jeans. Some of my favorite brands include, Frame, Paige, Citizens of Humanity, and Joe's. In these photos I'm wearing the Avedon by Citizens of Humanity, which are a high-rise skinny jean, and I love that I never have to worry about the waistline gaping out when I bend down to pick something up. Plus, the dark wash makes them versatile for a night out paired with heels and a great blouse, or for something casual, like errands or a walk around town.

Now that it's finally November I hope that the Texas heat decides to take a break so we can truly enjoy the fall season. And go on more walks to discover new places we've never been! Thanks for stopping by today! xo

Blushfully,

Belle
