River Place Nature Trail

Earlier this week my husband and I had the day off together, which has been a rare occasion as of late. So to celebrate, we decided to check out a new trail and go for a hike! River Place Nature Trail is surrounded by a beautiful neighborhood located in the north Austin area, engulfed by tall trees with a babbling brook flowing through it. As you scroll through, you'll get to see a friend that we met along the way!

This was our first time trying out our new backpack and we LOVE it! It's an Osprey that we picked up at REI last week, and it's the perfect size for a day trip with the right amount of storage space. It also has a hydration pouch if you don't want to bring multiple water bottles on your excursion.

This part of the trail reminded me of a scene out of Pocahontas. 

I love listening to the sounds of a rippling creek. If it hadn't been so chilly outside, I probably would have jumped in!

When we reached the end of the trail, we decided to take the main road back to where we had parked our car. I'm glad we did because we were able to check out the pretty homes in the neighborhood, as well as the pretty views! Although this trail was nothing compared to the mountains we are used to hiking in Phoenix, we still enjoyed the nice change of scenery.
