Memory Lane Monday: Pooh Bear

After seeing Zootopia yesterday, I've got animals on the brain (and can I just say, it was SO cute. Love Judy Hopps, woo woo!). But today, I want to talk about a special Disney animal that I adore, which is the willy, nilly, silly, old bear, Pooh! Growing up, I loved watching The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, as well as the animated series on Disney channel, The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (I always got the theme song stuck in my head!). Btw, did you see that Netflix added the original series to their lineup? So great!

I also enjoyed reading the books by A. A. Milne. The hand-drawn animation in those books are detailed, yet simplistic all at once; every time I see one of the original illustrations I feel nostalgic and wish I could go back to being a kid, instead of a grown-up kid :) I also remember having a Pooh stuffed animal, and bringing it everywhere with me. He was my trusted sidekick on car rides and camping trips.

Pooh was also one of my favorite characters to see at the parks, and still is! See for yourself...

He's gotten some updates to his appearance, but even 20 years later, I still can't resist giving him a big bear hug! And seeing Pooh in an adorable Santa hat is a bonus!

My mom grew up with Pooh bear, as well as my grandmother, and now my little 2-year-old cousin loves him too! I suppose it runs in the family. But what I love most in thinking back on growing up with this silly 'ol bear, is that he taught me to be a good friend, and that you can never have too much hunny (well, except when you get stuck in Rabbit's front door.)

Who's your favorite Hundred Acre Wood pal?

Later this week it will be time for something sweet, as I make a yummy recipe inspired by my favorite bear! Stay tuned!

Blushfully,
