Plaid Midi Skirt

With the new year just days away, I've been reminiscing on 2017 and all that has happened. It's been a year of change with us moving back to Arizona in February, and I'm so thankful that we were able to do that. While this post isn't meant to be a total reflection on the year (stay tuned), I'm realizing that I branched out a bit more than I normally do when it comes to my clothing. I tried some new colors that I was previously too afraid to try, and new silhouettes (here and here).

As it turns out, I've actually become quite fond of midi skirts. I was a bit hesitant in the beginning of the year to try them, but I'm so glad I did because I recently found another one at Nordstrom Rack that I love! It has a somewhat abstract plaid print in rich burgundy and white hues, with a hint of blue. The pleated design makes it great for twirling too! Even though it hasn't gotten cold enough yet to get more bundled up, I could definitely see this look with some tall, suede boots, and a long, wool coat. 

I'm looking forward to stepping outside my comfort zone even more next year. I've noticed that my style can reflect what I'm feeling that particular day or what mood I'm in. Yes, my style definitely leans towards the classic side, but it's fun to switch things up every now and then, and I'm so excited to do that even more in 2018! xo
