Grammys Red Carpet Recap 2022

Did you catch the Grammys this past Sunday?! I haven’t been super consistent in watching it every year throughout the last 5-10 years, but I love music so much and how it can take you back to a specific time and place in an instant. I’ve had a strong connection to music for most of my life and love listening to old favorites while also discovering new artists and genres. I didn’t start watching this Sunday’s show until John Legend’s moving performance in honor of Ukraine (wow, it was so beautiful!), but you better believe I was checking out all of the amazing fashion in the audience and looked at every single red carpet look online later that night! Let’s take a look at my 5 favorite fashion moments from the red carpet!

Chrissy Teigen

It’s probably no surprise that my favorite look of the night goes to this stunning custom pink ballgown designed by Nicole + Felicia Couture that Chrissy Teigen wore! I literally can’t resist a show stopping pink moment! What’s not to love about this look? First of all, this shade of pink is utter perfection. It’s like Elle Woods meets Barbie meets Regina George 💗 Now let’s talk about the DRAMA this gown is serving up! The full skirt and long train are to die for, not to mention the ruffle details that give extra volume and oomph to the entire look. I also appreciated that Chrissy kept her hairstyle and accessories more subdued to really let the dress shine. I give this fashion moment a 10/10! 👏🏻✨

Carrie Underwood

Sticking with the ballgown theme, my next favorite look goes to Carrie Underwood’s ombre Dolce & Gabbana gown! Carrie always looks so elegant on the red carpet, but I love that she doesn’t shy away from a bold outfit (or sparkle!). In comparison to the gown that Chrissy wore, this feels a bit less modern and more of a traditional “princess” vibe. I honestly kind of got The Princess Diaries vibes from this outfit - absolutely nothing wrong with that ☺️ The gold ombre hue in the skirt compliments her skin tone beautifully and the crystal bodice offers just the right amount of sparkle without being overkill. She’s the queen of country and 100% looked the part!

Saweetie

Ballgowns ruled the red carpet and my favorites list this year! Saweetie did an outfit change and I absolutely fell in love with her 2nd look, this Oscar de la Renta taffeta gown! I love the classic elegance that this gown exudes while also having a bit of modern flair with the slit in the front and the asymmetrical crystal bodice. This look still served up some glam, but in a different way than her first look, which was a hot pink Valentino 2-piece dress. She took a minimal approach with her shoes and accessories so that this very chic gown could take center stage.

Dua Lipa

Moving away from the gown theme, my next favorite look goes to Due Lipa in this iconic Versace bondage dress. This dress goes all the way back to Versace’s fall 1992 collection where it first debuted! Donatella Versace wore a version of the dress to the 1992 Met Gala, and Cindy Crawford wore this exact dress at the MTV Video Music Awards that same year. I love how Dua Lipa styled it with chunky chain necklaces and bracelets to really accentuate the gold buckle details. Even though this dress is 30 years old, it still feels very modern and sexy!

Lady Gaga

Last, but certainly not least, rounding out my top 5 is Lady Gaga in this classy Armani Privé dress. Her entire look exuded an old-school elegance vibe that felt very fitting considering she was up for 5 Grammy nominations for her collaborative album with Tony Bennett. As we all know, Gaga has been known to wear some outrageous looks over the years, so it was really refreshing to see her in such a sophisticated outfit. The satin white train is what sealed the deal for me on loving this dress - it just adds that extra element of glam that takes this dress from simple to WOW!
