A Vacation-Ready Summer Outfit

Now that summer is officially upon us all I can think about is traveling! Ever since Freddy and I got married almost 8 years ago (šŸ¤Æ) we honestly havenā€™t really traveled during the summertime. I worked for Nordstrom for 7 years and with the Anniversary Sale taking place from July-August, taking time off wasnā€™t really an option, especially as a manager. Even in June we spent a lot of time prepping for the sale and it was difficult to step away. I had to be there throughout the duration of the sale to run my department and make sure my team had customer appointments to drive sales and most days I worked 10-12 hour shifts. Needless to say, we tried to plan vacations in the fall as a reward for making it through another Anniversary Sale! Then, when I stopped working retail in 2019, my Dad had a stroke that summer so we wanted to spend as much time with him as possible and didnā€™t go anywhere. Then Covid happened andā€¦well, here we are ready to go to all the places!

Our first summer vacation is going to be a long weekend in New Mexico which we are so excited for! We've only driven through (on our drives to and from Texas when we lived there) so we are excited to spend a few days in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe šŸ˜ One of my friends (who I actually met through Nordstrom!) used to live in Albuquerque so she gave me tons of recommendations of things to do, like the Sandia Peak Tramway where you get a gorgeous view of the city. She also gave me a long list of restaurant recommendations which we canā€™t wait to try! Iā€™m planning to film a vlog for my YouTube channel while weā€™re there so Iā€™ll get to take you along with me! Then in August we are hoping to go to Montreal šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ Weā€™ve only been to Vancouver (we went for our honeymoon and we LOVED it!) so we are really excited to explore the Eastern part of Canada! Thatā€™s the extent of our summer trips, but later in the year we are also going back to Disneyland in October with some of our good friends who have never been when the parks are decorated for Halloween, so that will be so much fun! šŸŽƒ Weā€™re also hoping we can go in December too šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸŽ„ And then our last trip for the year will be Cancun! Weā€™ve never been to Mexico which is crazy since we are so close, but we are really looking forward to spending some time there.

One of my favorite things about getting ready for a vacation is planning my outfits! I love looking at pictures of the place weā€™ll be visiting about a month in advance so I can get a feel for the vibe and the locations weā€™ll be spending time in so that I can plan what Iā€™ll wear accordingly. If weā€™re doing a lot of walking, for example, I like to start planning outfits around the shoes so I can make sure my sneakers will work with the clothes Iā€™m packing. No matter where weā€™re headed though, I always make sure to bring a cute date night outfit thatā€™s nice enough in case we go to a semi-fancy restaurant. This pink bodysuit from Abercrombie is giving me major summer vacation vibes and I love it paired with my white trouser shorts! It could definitely be dressed down with some white sneakers as well, but these heels definitely dress the whole look up a notch. A sun hat is also a must for the summer and this one from Gigi Pip has been my go-to for the last couple of years.- I love it! It ties in perfectly with my straw/leather handbag too šŸ˜ Even though we arenā€™t going to Mexico until December, I really want to wear this outfit there!

Speaking of outfits, did you know you can now shop all my outfits in one convenient place? The LTK app šŸ˜ Itā€™s my favorite way to shop clothing, home decor, beauty products, and more from my favorite bloggers, so make sure to download the app and follow me (blushfulbelle) so you get updates every time I post a new look!

Do you have any summer travel plans? If so, Iā€™d love to hear where youā€™re headed! If you would be interested in some vacation outfit inspiration in the format of a vlog, let me know too šŸ˜Š
