Yellow Floral Print Tank
Although I've never done a "color test" before, I've learned over the years which hues work well with my skin tone and colorings. Blush pink, soft grey, burgundy, forest green and off-white are just some of the shades that have been staples in my wardrobe and that I continue to gravitate towards. However, it wasn't until recently that I branched out and bought a color that I literally have NEVER worn--at least not in my adult years!
While on a quick stop at Target last week (and by quick I mean I only had one item on my list and ended up staying there for over an hour...I'm guessing you know the feeling?) I got distracted by the latest Who What Wear collection, which is no surprise since I always have to check it out while I'm there! This beautiful yellow, floral blouse caught my eye, which actually was a surprise to me, since it's a color that I do not, I repeat DO NOT wear ever. But I couldn't ignore the beautiful floral design and the raw hem details so I decided, what the heck, let's try this bad boy on!
And guess what? I loved it! I think because the yellow is mixed with black, cream and grey tones it makes it a bit more flattering than perhaps a solid yellow shade. Plus, rather than a pastel, this yellow has more of a punch making it pop against the other neutrals. The pattern gives it interest and makes it the perfect top for Spring! I chose to wear it more casually with white jeans in this post, but I definitely plan to wear this tucked in with a black midi skirt and some wedges to give it a lady-like feel.
Finding this unexpected gem ignited an excitement to step out of my comfort zone more often and take more risks with my style. It was almost like an adrenaline boost, which might sound a bit silly, but I felt myself saying, "Hey, don't be afraid to step outside the box and try new things!" And to think, this all happened because of a seemingly ordinary trip to Target :) I hope this might inspire you to take some risks as well, whether it's in your wardrobe, or maybe another aspect of your life. Have a lovely weekend! xo
Blushfully,
Belle
