How To Style A Denim Midi Skirt

If you’re new to the denim midi skirt trend you’re not alone! I’ve seen women wearing this skirt style for about the last year and I filed it away as something I wanted to try one day but never got around to it. Well, I decided that 2024 was going to be my year (yes, they’re still in style) and now I wish I hadn’t waited so long! I had posted a poll on my Instagram Stories a couple weekends ago asking you if you’d wear this skirt style and majority of you voted yes, which gave me the confidence boost I needed to go for it despite still being a bit skeptical. Sometimes it can be hard to take a risk and try things outside your comfort zone, but over the last 10 years of experimenting with different styles and trends I can assure you the risk is almost always worth the reward!

I wasn’t sure how this skirt was going to fit or how comfortable it was going to be (one of the fun parts about online shopping & trying a new brand), but when I tried it on at home I was so relieved that it fit perfectly! I was hesitant that it would be awkward to walk or sit in with the slit and how stiff denim can be sometimes, but the skirt is surprisingly very comfortable and the denim is soft to the touch. I also love the medium washed stitching details on this skirt! I had been eyeing some other options from Abercrombie but I didn’t like the wash options they had (either super light or super dark blue) and theirs looked more loose fitting which wasn’t the vibe I was going for.

I wanted to tap into some springtime “Parisian chic” vibes for this look so I went with a gorgeous off-the-shoulder top from Reformation in an ivory shade and some tan lace-up sandals from Tkees. If you’re on the hunt for a great quality pair of sandals for any upcoming vacations or just to have for spring/summer I can’t recommend this brand enough! I’ve worn their flip flops for years and always get so many compliments on them. This was my first time trying this lace-up style and they’re so comfortable!

Would love to know what you think of this outfit! xo
