All The Heart Eyes For This Activewear Set
The only thing that has been keeping me sane throughout this quarantine is my at-home workouts. I do them after work everyday at 5:15p and I love getting a cardio boost in before I make dinner for Freddy and I. Some people love getting their workouts in first thing in the morning to start their day, but for me, I personally love an afternoon sweat sesh! Plus, after sitting at our dining table (aka my desk) all day, I crave that physical movement and a chance to release any tension from my work day and let it all go. If you’ve been reading my blog for some time now, you may have read previous posts where I talked about different fitness routines and how I struggled to remain consistent with them. I’ve tried PopSugar, BBG and just running on the treadmill, but I’ve finally found my groove by doing Tone It Up workouts at home and it’s truly my favorite program I’ve ever done! Within the Tone It Up app there are all sorts of classes you can take, ranging from yoga and cardio, to kickboxing and barre. And you can do them all on your own time! Plus, they also have guided meditations and structured fitness programs you can follow if you want something more prescriptive. I’ve completed 3 programs so far this year, and I feel so proud of the work I’ve put in and how good I feel! Even though I’m still going strong, there are always days where I need to motivate myself a little bit extra to get that workout in, and there’s no better way to do that than with a cute workout outfit!
SHOP THE LOOK
When I was browsing the Shopbop app recently I was looking for comfy loungewear pieces to potentially add to my closet, since the only thing I want to be when I’m home is comfy. I started looking at different yoga leggings to wear during the day and also for workouts, but when I stumbled on this adorable heart print sports bra and legging set, it called my name and I clicked that ‘add to cart’ button so fast! Blush pink + rose gold hearts = life! Obviously this is the most non-essential purchase ever, but it was a fun way to reward myself for all the hard work I’ve put in and to motivate myself to keep going. While I love getting new workout clothes every once in awhile, I’d be lying if I said that was my only motivation to keep my fitness game strong,
My Dad was very active, even through most of his battle with brain cancer. He loved hiking, golfing and fishing with friends—really anything that involved being outdoors. He always encouraged me to workout and he would get so excited when I would tell him I was starting a new fitness program or when I would go on hikes with Freddy. Part of the reason I’ve been so motivated to continue working out is for my Dad. I want to live my life in a way that would make him proud, and I want to honor this body that God has given me and take care of it while I’m still young and healthy. Not everyone has the ability to stay physically active due to various reasons, and that was certainly true for my Dad towards the end of his life. It’s a privilege to be able to move my body every day and that’s what keeps me going! It’s so true that once you define your “why” in anything that you do, you can truly go the distance no matter how hard it might get. When you know your purpose and you believe in it, you can do anything you set your heart to!
