Sedona Adventures
As I mentioned in last week's post, Freddy and I went to Sedona a couple weeks ago and had such a great time exploring around the town. We were able to meet up with one of Freddy's really good friends for lunch and relax after the two hour drive. After lunch, we decided to check out an outdoor arts & crafts village called Tlaquepaque. As soon as we pulled up we were mesmerized by the beautiful architecture of the buildings and quaint shops that fit right in.
Around every corner we found something so charming and idyllic about this place. From the fountains, to the handcrafted doors, I felt like I was in a dream. Even though most of the shops had already closed when we arrived (it was a Sunday) we just enjoyed walking around and taking in the sights.
As we continued to walk around, I had memories come flooding back from my childhood, because I remembered walking around this exact place with my mom! My parents and I had stayed at the Los Abrigados resort located just across the street, so my mom and I would come to Tlaquepaque to do some shopping and enjoy a nice lunch. It's funny how being in a familiar place jogs your memory, almost like how a certain scent can transport you to another time and place.
One of my favorite moments from walking around the village was hearing faint sounds of a guitar in the distance. We followed the sound and were delighted to find a flamenco guitarist and a drummer performing on a small stage with a few dozen people gathered around enjoying the music. It was absolutely beautiful listening to them play together, watching the sunset on that lazy Sunday afternoon. I didn't want the day to end, and it has made me all the more eager to go back to Sedona. We even have dreams to own a home there one day! But, one step at a time :) There's so much more we can't wait to experience on our next trip up to this beautiful town, such as hiking, dining and of course, shopping!
You may have heard me talk about wanting to incorporate more color into my wardrobe, and this blue skirt (in white here) is one piece I've been experimenting with lately. I last wore it here, and I decided to switch things up a bit by pairing it with this printed Rebecca Taylor top (similar here), which has subtle hints of blue. I felt like this skirt would be perfect for adventuring in because it's made of a lightweight cotton poplin fabric, and is so comfy and fun to twirl around in! This Spring season has gotten me excited for trying out new colors, and I know it will continue into summer as well :)
